Total length of the route: 1.130 km
Travel time (outward route): 0:40 hrs
Travel time (return route): 0:30 hrs
Uphill: 220 m

This short alternative to path 144 leads you to the pass where the track to Monte Covreto branches off, passing beyond Monte Corbaro, where a Cross of the Alpini has been placed. The path starts at Monterecchio, a well-kept mountain pasture, with all its restored alpine cottages, where 3V Path, 10th Leg, Biegno – Maccagno (110) passes. Following the 3V Path, climb up behind the village from a widening at the beginning of the pasture with a magnificent view over Valle Veddasca and Lake Maggiore and reach Passo Fontanarossa. Take to the right, past path 144D heading for Rifugio Alpetto on the left and path 110 towards Passo Forcora. The path climbs steeply up through sparse pastures and reaches the diversion to Monte Corbaro on the right. Here, turn right uphill, reach the ridge and walk along it as far as the Cross of the Alpini. Then, bypassing a few rocks, climb down and reach the saddle where you will cross path 144 again.
