The path starts at Monterecchio, a well-kept mountain pasture, with all its restored alpine cottages, where 3V Path, 10th Leg, Biegno – Maccagno (110) passes. Following the 3V Path, climb up behind the village starting from a widening at the beginning of the pasture with a magnificent view over Valle Veddasca and Lake Maggiore and reach Passo Fontanarossa. Take to the right and walk past path 144D heading for Rifugio Alpetto on the left and path 110 towards Passo Forcora. As the path climbs steeply up through sparse pastures, go past the diversion to Monte Corbaro (144A) on the right. The path follows a half-slope line along the western side of Monte Corbaro until it reaches a saddle where path 144A comes up from the right and the path climbing up to Sasso Corbaro and Monte Covreto branches off on the left. Continue at half slope, along the path following the Italian-Swiss border until it forks for Monte Covreto on the left. Go past it, walk slightly up and eventually reach Monte Paglione, which commands a superb view over the Swiss part of Lake Maggiore. By now in Switzerland, walk on as far as the beginning of the wood, through which the path will lead you downhill towards St. Anna's Oratory, with a small hut attached to it and a picnic area.
