From the square in front of the small church of Passo Forcora, turn right towards Nove Fontane, along the unpaved road which is lined with small houses at the beginning and further on winds through the wood.
The route now follows the same way as path 115, which leads from Passo Forcora to Monti di Pino and further on climbs down to Zenna. Go along the unpaved road running at half slope, walk past the fork with path 115A heading for Alpe Quadra on the left and get to the catchment basin at Locality Nove Fontane; at the next fork, at about a hundred metres further on, take the path on the right, leaving the dirt road towards Monti di Pino behind you (115). The path swings up through the woods and reaches a junction with path 144C, which you will leave on the left, and goes steadily uphill as far as the Pian della Rogna, where you cross the Italian-Swiss border and you find the crossing with path144D, leading to Monte Covreto and Monterecchio on the right. Walk on, keeping on the left-hand side along the path leading downhill to Rifugio Alpetto from which you can enjoy a panoramic view over the Swiss part of Lake Maggiore.
